Heartland is a 5 piece acoustic band
that delivers traditional and contemporary bluegrass music.
They also craft the bluegrass sound to many folk, country,
and popular tunes.
Heartland calls Kalamazoo home.
They may be seen performing at a local ice cream parlor,
part of the entertainment at the Kalamazoo New Years Fest,
playing in parks in Kalamazoo and Portage during one of
the many outdoor summer events, and are often engaged to
provide music to private and neighborhood parties.
In the fall of 2002, they performed at the first annual
Coopers Glen Bluegrass Festival in Kalamazoo.
Heartland arrangements feature
tight three part harmony and hot instrumental breaks.
Heartland has been part of the
local Kalamazoo music scene for seven years.
