Updates
on the Michigan Bluegrass.com Website

... ... ...
Some folks love to know
the behinds the scenes information about a website, and
well, we aim to please around here. This is a web-log, lovingly
called a BLOG, which is a sort of website journal of thoughts,
information and updates. I hope that you enjoy these mental
wanderings and information. Some may think this is as exciting
as watching paint dry, but well, it's history in the making!
(g) Enjoy!

If anyone really knows Sherri, they know
that she learned to love Bluegrass music up in Michigan, around
the Detroit area. She'll be ready to credit a good friend
to getting her tangled up in blue... grass that is! 20+ years
ago, she was a tagalong to many a show, festival and event
with all the Michigan greats... and with the success of Buckeye
Bluegrass.com, she could hardly let her roots go without attention.
Living in Toledo is really like living in the greater Detroit
metropolitan area, anyways, so after a day or so of hard thinking,
www.Gander Grass.com was born. Michi-ganders love their bluegrass
and it seemed only right to help out her old pals as well.

Since Sherri is a banjo player and everyone
knows that banjo players just can't leave well enough alone
and MUST fool around with things constantly, she redesigned
the front page of the site and added some nifty button boxes
to direct people around the site quickly. Also added is a
Chat Room function, that is sure to get her into trouble,
because she LOVES to chat and well, bluegrass and chatting
seem to go hand in hand. Check in often and maybe you'll catch
her there. Drop by on one of our announced chat times and
see who shows up!
Also added is our new affiliation with
Americana Music. Through the gracious help of Bill Gamble,
we will be receiving a small commission on all albums sold
through his site with our promotional code of A108. This will
help to keep Gander Grass.com up and running. The costs are
low, but there are costs. This affiliation will help to keep
things easy to manage and free of annoying pop ups and other
funding methods. On the invoice it will state that you are
helping Buckeye Bluegrass, which is the sister site of Gander
Grass and it's okay. (Easier to do it with one then with two...)

It's been a little while since I got in
here and did much work to this site and it's due and I apologize!
BuckeyeBluegrass.com has experienced a HUGE growth spurt and
it's been keeping me pretty busy. However, I'm back and there
are going to be some good improvements!
The first is the change of the name! GanderGrass
just wasn't quite right and I knew it. And it isn't getting
the hits that I knew it needed to get people the information
that they are searching for when they are looking for Bluegrass
in Michigan! So soon, you will be able to contact the site
through either www.MichiganBluegrass.com or www.GanderGrass.com.
Eventually we will drop the GanderGrass.com domain, however
at this point it will be running at the same time and direct
folks to the main site. Hope this isn't too confusing, but
well, this is for the best we think!

Time to do a little remodeling! Spring
cleaning time. I'm changing the look of the site to better
match the other two sites and trying to get some of the information
in here that I've been gathering. It's been a slow process
here, for some reason, I really do need a little help from
the community at large. If you know of a band or a show, event
or just want to post some information here about Michigan
Bluegrass... Please let me know! Thanks!

My apologies for not keeping
up on this website... it's been a pretty busy time of my life
recently. I recently started a new company with an old friend
and we've been very busy with several projects. Of course,
there is speculation on the projects, but hey, if they talking
about you, you must be doing something right!
Just to clarify things,
we are not from France, nor are we starting anything illegal,
nothing is going on, and well, ah, we're not selling anyone's
banjo. What we are doing is starting a publishing company.
Westvon Publishing will be doing music publishing in the Americana
music market, and also working in educational materials as
well as academic works in religion, education and writing.
We are also consolidating the web site publications under
the mantle of Westvon, with graphic services under my old
company, Kalligraphika.
As with any venture, it
takes a while to get things up and running. Stay tuned for
really good things to come. We're got a few projects in the
works that will really impress a few folks and offer some
good resources and a place of sharing and information exchange
to nurture Bluegrass music.
So if you hear anything
about what is up... just remember, feel free to email me to
check and see if it's really the facts.... and in the meanwhile,
stay tuned!
Sincerely,
Sherri
